By spurring investment in energy, Africa can address both energy poverty and food security.

The African Energy Chamber (AEC) is pleased to announce it will co-host a series of dialogues focusing on the energy transition in the oil and gas industry with the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI).

H.E. Didier Budimbu Ntubuanga met with AEC Executive Chairman NJ Ayuk in Luanda whereby the two parties agreed to work together to secure more investment to kickstart the DRC’s energy development.

The Memorandum of Understanding will see both entities working together on the creation of a pan-African energy bank.

The webinar will take place on 31 May 2022 (16:00 GMT) under the theme, “Africa – What could be (The Billion Dollar/Barrels Question).

Bringing together Africa’s energy players and international investors, the summit will be instrumental in enhancing private sector investment across Africa’s oil and gas sector.

As capital expenditure directed towards oil and gas projects tightens, a panel discussion during an African Energy Chamber-led business forum in Equatorial Guinea emphasized the role of Africa’s domestic financial institutions.

During a Malabo Business Breakfast hosted by the African Energy Chamber, speakers discussed gas monetization, energy poverty and ease of doing business in Africa.

During a working visit to Mozambique, the African Energy Chamber met with H.E. Carlos Zacarias, Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, about project resumption at key gas developments, improving local content and making energy poverty history by 2030.

The expansion of the production sharing contract for Block G represents a step in the right direction for Equatorial Guinea as the country moves to scale up investment and production.
