With the cost of oil having reached close to $88 a barrel, producing markets such as Nigeria, Libya and Angola should be capitalizing on prices. Yet, production in Africa continues to significantly underperform.

Mohammed Barkindo walks in the same shoes as late world leaders Kofi Annan, who served as Secretary General of the United Nations, and Dr. Rilwanu Lukman, a former Nigerian Minister and OPEC Secretary General who has been described as one of the oil industry’s most influential and respected ambassadors. Barkindo, throughout his tenure with OPEC, has fought the good fight, finished his race, and kept the faith.

The 4th edition of the Namibia’s International Energy Conference will be held from 20th – 22nd April 2022 in Windhoek, Namibia, organized by Rich Africa Consultancy. It is going to be the official meeting place for the energy industry. The two-day flagship event will be held under the patronage of the Ministry of Mines and Energy led by Hon. Minister Tom Alweendo.
