Thierno Seydou LY will speak at the next edition of the Invest in African Energy Forum, taking place in Paris on June 1.
The African Energy Chamber’s Invest in African Energy Forum has seen a series of successful editions in London, Oslo, Frankfurt and Dubai, with the next edition set to take place on June 1 at the Westin Paris Vendome in France. During the event, Thierno Seydou LY, Director General of Senegal’s national oil company (NOC) Petrosen, will deliver a keynote address, providing insight into the country’s E&P agenda post-first hydrocarbon production expected this year.
This year marks a major milestone for Senegal, with first production expected for the 2.5 million ton per annum Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project. A cross-border offshore project, GTA is a testament to the role regional collaboration and strong public-private partnerships play in getting large-scale hydrocarbon projects off the ground. The project is set to not only accelerate economic growth through energy security and revenue generation, but is expected to trigger newfound growth across the regional energy market through the launching of new projects, opening licensing rounds and the introduction of a strong slate of global energy players to the sector.
Senegal’s NOC has put in place an ambitious upstream agenda that aims to unlock the full potential of the country’s offshore basins, and as such, is inviting regional and global financiers and E&P players to take part in one of Africa’s most promising energy markets. The Invest in African Energy Forum Paris provides the perfect opportunity for new deals to be signed that will not only further Senegal’s upstream agenda but ensure high returns on investment for global parties.
“We are excited to host Thierno Seydou LY from one of the fastest growing energy markets in Africa at the Invest in African Energy Forum Paris. The forum provides global investors and project developers with the opportunity to connect with African energy leaders and policymakers, forging new ties and deals that will drive investment and development even further. With his participation, the international energy community will be able to gain first-hand insight into one of Africa’s most exciting gas plays, with opportunities for collaboration being showcased through his keynote address. We look forward to the insight set to be provided by Thierno LY and hope to see you all in Paris,” states NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the AEC.
