Reginal Spiller is a world class energy expert that has successfully worked and invested in oil and gas projects in over 60 countries around the world. He has taken two companies public on the US and London Exchanges and brought millions of investment dollars to projects in the US, Africa, South America, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. He is recognized by his peers as one of the world’s foremost geoscientist and is a Senior Affiliate Scientist and Head of African Relations at the University of Utah. He has executed exploration and development projects in some of the world’s most prolific basins often situated in challenging locations. His key skill is his ability to translate the geoscience and engineering aspects of energy projects into value that that can be understood by the capital markets.
In addition, he has a unique ability to identify, mentor and utilize local indigenous talent for both commercial and physical execution of the projects. Mr. Spiller has a distinguished public service career and served as The Deputy Assistant Secretary of Oil and Gas at the US Department of Energy where some of his principle accomplishments were in designing the Deep Water Royalty Relief Act, and creating joint R and D projects between the USG and the Oil and Gas industry. In his capacity he also provided millions of research dollars to Universities across the country.
He continued his public service as the Honorary Consul General for the country of Sierra Leone, a State Department sanctioned position. He has been an active board member of the National Research Council/ National Academy of Science and has served on numerous University Boards.
