The African Energy Chamber (AEC) – the voice of Africa’s energy sector – extends its deepest condolences to the people of Venezuela following the devastating earthquake that struck the country on Wednesday.

The Chamber stands in solidarity with the families who have lost loved ones, those who have been injured or displaced, and the communities facing the immense challenge of recovery. At this time of profound loss, the AEC calls on the global energy community to stand with Venezuela and support relief and rebuilding efforts in any way possible.

For decades, Venezuela has played a significant role in the global energy industry, maintaining longstanding relationships with governments, companies and institutions across the world. The Chamber believes that these ties carry renewed meaning in moments such as this, when international solidarity and humanitarian support are most urgently needed.

The AEC recognizes the resilience of the Venezuelan people and expresses confidence in the country’s ability to recover from this tragedy. As relief efforts continue, the Chamber reaffirms its support for Venezuela and for all those working on the ground to assist affected communities and rebuild in the weeks and months ahead.
