As Managing Director for Africa at the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s (MCC) Department of Compact Operations, Alicia Robinson-Morgan is responsible for oversight of a multi-country Africa portfolio. In this role, Ms. Robinson-Morgan provides oversight and guidance for the development and implementation of nearly $3 billion worth of programs focused on capital investments and policy reforms to ensure achievement of program objectives and adherence to MCC principles of partnership, focus on results and policy improvements.
Prior to joining MCC, Ms. Robinson-Morgan was Senior Principal Trade and Investment Coordinator for the Africa Bureau at the U.S. Agency for International Development. Previously she was Deputy Director and Acting Director for the Office of Africa at the U.S. Department of Commerce (Commerce) managing programs involving U.S.-Africa economic issues. Also at Commerce, she was a Senior International Economist focused on U.S.-South African trade relations and began her career as a Presidential Management Fellow covering West Africa. She holds a B.A. in International Relations from Brown University, spending a year abroad at the Institute of Political Studies in Lyon, France, and an M.A. in International Economics and International Relations from The Johns Hopkins University – School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
